Introduction

PacePocket ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use PacePocket, we may collect:

  • Strava account data: When you sign in with Strava, we receive your Strava user ID, name, and profile photo, and we store OAuth tokens so we can sync your runs on your behalf.
  • Coach profile: Details you provide during onboarding or in settings, such as age, gender, max heart rate, ultimate goal, preferred running days, distance units, and training focus.
  • Activity data: Synced run data from Strava (for example distance, duration, pace, heart rate, elevation, splits, and laps) plus related weather context we look up for analysis.
  • AI coaching content: Messages you send to Elite Coach, run analyses, weekly training plans, and race roadmaps (macro plans) generated for you.
  • Credits & purchases: Your credit balance, rewarded-ad claims, and records needed to verify App Store credit-pack purchases. We do not receive your full payment card details — those are handled by Apple.
  • Offline tools inputs: Pace calculator, track, and road tool inputs are processed on your device and are not required for cloud features. They are not sent to our servers unless you separately use a cloud feature that includes similar information.
  • Advertising data: If you watch a rewarded ad for a free daily credit, Google AdMob may collect data as described in the Advertising section below.

How We Use Your Information

  • Authenticate you and keep your account connected to Strava
  • Sync and display your runs in the app
  • Provide AI coaching features (chat, run analysis, weekly plans, and race roadmaps)
  • Manage credits, purchases, and daily rewarded-ad grants
  • Improve reliability, safety, and product quality
  • Respond to support requests you send us

Data Storage

Account, activity, coaching, and credit data are stored on our servers so features work across sessions. Offline training tools keep calculator inputs on your device. Strava OAuth tokens are stored server-side and are not sent back to the app client.

Third-Party Services

PacePocket uses the following third-party services:

  • Strava: Sign-in and activity sync
  • OpenAI: Generating coach chat replies, run analyses, and training plans
  • Open-Meteo: Weather context for run analysis
  • Apple App Store: App distribution and in-app credit purchases
  • Google AdMob: Rewarded ads for optional free daily credits
  • Hosting providers: Operating our API and databases (for example Vercel and our database provider)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data.

Advertising

PacePocket may offer a daily free credit through a rewarded Google AdMob ad. AdMob may use device identifiers and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. You can limit personalized advertising in your device settings. Watching ads is optional — you can also buy credit packs, and offline pace tools do not require credits or ads.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the app (with the providers listed above), to comply with law, or to protect the safety and integrity of PacePocket and our users.

Your Rights & Choices

You can:

  • Disconnect by logging out of PacePocket in Settings
  • Revoke PacePocket's access in your Strava account settings
  • Opt out of personalized advertising in device settings
  • Request access to or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by emailing us at the address below

We will respond to verified deletion or access requests within a reasonable time.

Children's Privacy

PacePocket is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
